Gran Hotel Son Net - Mallorca

A Luxurious Hideaway 20 Minutes Away From Palma Mallorca

Lobby Bar
The moment you arrive at Gran Hotel Son Net, you can't help but admire this beautiful estate that dates back to 1672.  You'll immediately feel the colonial influence, finding arches columns around every corner.  With spacious public spaces and only 31 rooms and suites, it feels extremely tranquil.  All rooms are unique in style, nicely decorated, with views of the Tramontana mountains.  I was lucky to stay in one of the suites with a living room and one of the prettiest marble bathrooms ever.

You can choose to stay in the main house but if you're looking for more privacy, the cottages are a great choice.  They are located to the exterior of the main building via a private entrance.  You'll also have a private terrace, garden, and heated jacuzzi!
Mallorca

In such a beautiful setting, it's easy to spend your days at the pool enjoying the hillside views.  But you have many other choices of things to do if you want to explore more.  Activities such as hiking, cycling, horse riding, and golf can be arranged.  You can also wander off to the small town of Puigpunyent and combine with some wine tasting at the local vineyards.

The best way to end your day is with an exquisite dinner at Oleum Restaurant.  The restaurant, with its large stone walls, is built around a 17th century olive press which still functions!  But not in use.  The menu will of course depend on what's available during the season.  My dish of grilled duck breast with parsnip and smoked pumpkin was delicious.
